The National Rural Medicine Conference seeks proposals that offer practical, evidence-based solutions to the various challenges associated with rural healthcare. Opportunities exist for 30-minute and 60-minute speaker sessions as well as poster sessions.

General Information and Proposal Guidelines

All proposals will undergo a review process. Authors of accepted proposals will be asked to present their work in Nashville. Proposals not accepted for on-site presentation will be considered for enduring presentations, which will be pre-recorded and hosted on the conference’s website. All accepted proposals – both for on-site and enduring sessions – will be included in conference materials.

If a proposal is accepted, the authors are responsible for all costs associated with attending the conference, including conference registration fees, travel, and lodging.

Proposals should have a rural health focus and align with one of the following topic areas:

Current Research Related to Rural Health Issues and Rural Medicine

Innovative Technologies and Services to Improve Patient Access and Patient Care in Rural Settings

Approaches to Educating and Training Medical Students and Residents for Rural Primary Care

The proposal must be no more than 500 words. No figures or tables are allowed, and all abbreviations must be defined. Proposals must include appropriate headings (e.g., context, objective and/or hypothesis, methods, results, and conclusion).

For research proposals, authors must submit information regarding IRB approval or exempt status, including IRB number, review level, date approved, and clinical trials registry number if applicable. Authors must disclose any financial conflicts of interest and grant funding support for the research described.

Submission Deadline: October 30, 2024 (Extended)
